FAQs
Where are the ceremony and reception taking place?
Basilica Hudson! It’s such an awesome industrial space, we can’t wait to share it with you! The brief ceremony is expected to be outdoors (pending good weather), followed by a cocktail hour and formal reception inside and throughout the Basilica. If it looks like rain, then the reception will be inside the Basilica as well.
See the schedule for more details.
Are there any other events during the weekend?
All guests are invited to welcome drinks and hors d'oeuvres at The Wick (the main hotel) on Friday night, hosted by Sue and Jeff Phillips. Stop by to say hello and get the weekend started off right with an open bar :)
We are also inviting everyone to a farewell brunch at the Basilica Hudson on Sunday morning. The brunch will be very casual. Drop by for a quick bite before you begin your travels or stick around for a chat. Bacon, mimosas, pancakes - all the good stuff.
See the schedule for more details.
What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
The dress code for the ceremony and reception is formal / black-tie optional. Full length dresses and suits are encouraged, as the brief ceremony is expected to be outdoors in November at sunset (or if raining, indoors, but please still plan to dress warmly as needed).
Welcome drinks and the farewell brunch are of course casual and comfortable.
What will the weather be like?
Average temperatures in Hudson during November are upper 40s to low 30s, though it may be slightly warmer based on recent forecasts. We will have heaters at the venue, but please expect to dress warmly as needed (see above regarding attire).
Do you have a hotel block for guests?
The room block at The Wick is now closed. If you would like to reach out to the hotel to discuss your existing reservation or to double check remaining availability, please call (518) 249-6825 or visit www.thewickhotel.com. See Accommodations for more information and other options.
Will transportation to the venue be provided?
Yes, see the Shuttle Schedule for more information. The shuttle will be picking up from The Wick and dropping off at Basilica Hudson prior to the ceremony and returning guests to The Wick as the reception winds down. Basilica Hudson is also just a few minutes walk from The Wick for anyone who would prefer to just head on over.
Where can I park?
The Wick has complimentary parking and valet. Basilica Hudson also has a ton of free parking off of Front Street. If you are planning to visit Warren Street, note that municipal parking lots and street parking may be metered and require quarters.
What should we do on Saturday morning/early afternoon?
We encourage our guests to explore Warren Street, Hudson’s main street. A shuttle will be operating from The Wick to Warren Street throughout Saturday morning/early afternoon. See the Shuttle Schedule for specific times and more information.
